Welcome! New! This section was recently updated

Hey there! Welcome to my retro-styled corner of the internet. My name is Steven Schiavone and I'm a digital forensics and cybersecurity professional based out of the New York metro area.

I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Cybersecurity from Pace University's Seidenberg School of CSIS while working for the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. When I'm not working on computers for business, I'm working on them for pleasure. I have a vast army of 40 or so towers, AIOs, laptops, workstations, netbooks, servers, and other gear that range from the Zenith ZF-158-42 from 1984 to an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus from 2026. I also work on pretty cool computers that aren't my own, like Vintage Computer Federation's UNIVAC 1219B at InfoAge in Wall Township.

I got my start in all this by script kiddie-ing around with old computers and learning how to break and fix things. In the process, I destroyed an embarrassing amount of hardware and Windows installs but I wouldn't trade it for the world. After going through middle school and high school figuring out how to bend anything that uses electricity to my will, I was elevated to President for my high school's <Computer Club. Occupationally, I started senior year as a PC salesman at Best Buy and did freelance tech support for friends and family. After graduating, I went to Pace University for undergrad and got a B.S. in Information Technology. I did a lot of work along the way for the university's Digital Forensics Lab, TAed a few classes, became the President for Cybersecurity Club, the go-to guy for the cybersecurity community in general, team-captained our NECCDC and CPTC teams, earned my CyberCorps scholarship, and heldthree fruitful internships before graduating with my B.S. in 2025.

Now, I'm working through my graduate degree in cybersecurity while also working at the WCDAO. I do a fair bit of programming, some slick hardware/JTAG/side-channel stuff, and in general living my best life. I have had immense fortune in my opportunities and experiences and I appreciate every single one of them. I owe a lot to the great and wonderful people at Pace University and my employers both past and present and do my best every day to pay it forward. I hope that with my grad degree in hand, I can adjunct some courses and maybe assist in coaching the cyber competition teams and club!

When I'm well and truly not doing anything computer-nerd-related, I enjoy the outdoors of Westchester and downtown White Plains before cooking the most elaborate meals NYT Cooking, Serious Eats, Alton Brown, ATK, and Chris Young can throw at me with my loving girlfriend of six years. I am at Wegmans, Trader Joe's, ShopRite, and Costco more than I visit any other stores. Those other stores...Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table, and Micro Center (I do actually go places not food-related sometimes). I am an Eagle Scout and maintain a semi-famous purchasing guide for high-quality... everything really in a Google Doc. I do play video games, albeit far less than I used to, and I have a soft spot for the classics. DN3D, UT4UU, Garry's Mod, SupCom FAF, Stormworks, TF2, and Minecraft are some of my all-time favorites.

Feel free to look around! Check out my work history, my skills and tools, or drop me a line. I don't bite.
